Wisconsin Assisitive Techonology, Financial Aid & Disability Programs

To some Wisconsin is home to the Green Bay Packers, but the state offers more than just decades of great football. Wisconsin has local, regional and statewide programs to assist people with disabilities live as independent lifestyle as possible.

  • Wisconsin's Assistive Technology (Wistech) Program
    Provides information about device loans, demonstration, advisory council and other state services.
  • WisLoan
    This program offers loans for assistive technology to help people buy equipment such as modified vehicles. The program is open to all ages and there are no income requirements. Loan amounts depend on the item being purchased.
  • Wisconsin Assistive Technology Initiative
    Promotes responsibility to assure that every child in the state has the assistive technology they require.
  • Trace Center
    A resource center that develops technology to assist people with disabilities.
  • Governor's Committee for People with Disabilities
    A state program that works to improve employment opportunities for people with disabilities. The council on physical disabilities meets quarterly to develop state plans and make recommendations to legislation.
  • Great Lakes ADA Center
    Provides information, materials, technical assistance and training for Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin.
  • Independent Living Centers
    Centers are located throughout the state to offer assistance and program guides to persons with disabilities. They may also assist in locating local funds to be used for purchases including vehicle modifications.
