West Virginia Assisitive Techonology, Financial Aid & Disability Programs

West Virginia is full of hills to climb for leisure, but not when it comes to finding resources for persons with disabilities. The state offers assistance for independent living, advocacy and assistive technology.

• West Virginia Assistive Technology System
  A state program that provides access to assistive technology for education, telecommunications, employment and community living.
• Funding Guides
  Provides information about funding in two forms: parents and caregivers and residents.
• West Virginians with Developmental Disabilities
  The WV Developmental Disabilities Council works to assure that all citizens with developmental disabilities receive the services, supports and opportunities they need. They provide resources for children and adults with disabilities.
• West Virginia AgrAbility
  Assists farmers and their families who have been affected b y a disability. It helps with equipment modifications, assistive technology equipment and finding local resources.
• Mountain State
  An online community that provides peer support and guidance for persons with disabilities. They have information about advocacy, skill development and independent living. Independent Living Centers are located throughout the state to provide services and help connect individuals with local financing options.
• West Virginia Advocates
  A service designed to protect the legal rights of West Virginians with disabilities.
