Minnesota Assisitive Techonology, Financial Aid & Disability Programs

The Land of 10,000 Lakes is focused on providing information for persons with disabilities. From the Twin Cities and beyond, Minnesota wants all citizens to have the freedom to be independent.

  • Mobility Independence
    Assists Minnesota residents with affording vehicle modifications. They have granted more than $450,000 to individuals with disabilities since they started in 1990.
  • Assistive Technology of Minnesota
    A non-profit organization that provides access to assistive equipment as well as information and training.
  • Minnesota STAR Program
    STAR's mission is to help all Minnesotans with disabilities gain access to and acquire the assistive technology they need to live, learn, work and play.
  • Great Lakes ADA Center
    Provides information, materials, technical assistance and training for Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin.
  • Independent Living
    The Minnesota Association of Centers for Independent Living advocates for the needs of people with disabilities to help develop new resources and improve accessibility. There are eight centers that serve Minnesota residents.
  • Minnesota Disability Law Center
    The MDLC offers free civil legal assistance to individuals with disabilities. Among other issues, the center deals with assistive technology availability.
  • Travel Guide
    The Minnesota Travel Guide for Persons with Disabilities is a non-profit organization that helps travelers find the most accessible locations so they can enjoy their trip.
  • Disability Minnesota - Transportation
    A guide to Minnesota's public transportation system including paratransit service, disability parking and a map of transit services.
