Just because you are off the main land doesn't mean your mobility needs should be ignored. Hawaii has services in place to make sure persons with disabilities can come and go as they please.

  • Pacific ADA Center
    Works with members of the community and businesses to improve access for persons with disabilities through technology assistance and education.
  • Aloha Special Technology Access Center
    Promotes assistive technology and sponsors a 12-episode television program that discusses the challenges persons with disability face.
  • Hawaii Transit
    Directory of public transportation available to Hawaii residents listed by county.
  • Honolulu Bus
    Offers a Handi-Van paratransit curb-to-curb service. Riders can purchase a disability card or pay through Medicaid for the service.
  • Beach Access
    All terrain wheelchairs are available seven days a week at no charge through the Department of Parks and Recreation.
  • Tips for Traveling
    The Disability and Communication Access Board, a division of Department of Health, list of tips for travelers with disabilities. Tips include information about parking, visiting local parks and beaches, and business accessibility.
